Totally fed up

I am totally fed up with DiGi's unimproved broadband services. I had launched a boycott to not paying my broadband bill for a month. When I going to pay it, they will ask question for sure. I am pretty sure that I am going to burst out everything from my mouth.

I had started to use DiGi Prepaid back in my Form 3 (2002) and has been using DiGi Prepaid until I changed to DiGi Postpaid 2 years ago. No doubt, I even make free advertising to friends by telling them that DiGi is the best telco provider.

It has been 5 months since I got my broadband. What I got were: 1st month of good services and 4 months of disconnections plus many explanations service. As many people would have say, "I am trying to be patient." Every thing needs an end.

Since DiGi unwillingly to improve their services, I am going to wait until next year's Chinese New Year to see whether UniFi is available or not. I can't get what I want from DiGi then I need to get it from other operators. I hope that DiGi will learn their lessons.

Time to change... the broadband

I am going to do selections to pick which internet broadband company that can really suit my needs. I want it to be better than others, lesser lags, faster in speeds and will only disconnect whenever I need to.

For sure, DiGi Broadband already unable to suit my needs since they unable to achieve whatever they said in the advertisement. Yet they still being 'thick face' to continue on with that advertisement.

I had Yes 4G and TM's UniFi in my mind. Because Yes 4G still new, I can't simply subscribe it without knowing the real quality of the services. I heard rumor that Yes 4G was hacked by anonymous people. Whether is truth or not, Yes 4G still under my consideration.

Telekom Malaysia started to introduce optic fiber high-speed internet broadband called UniFi. Until today, not much area are covered. I am still waiting for Telekom Malaysia to cover my area as soon as possible. I had asked for the coverage. According to TM's response, I will be able to enjoy it after this year. I can't wait for it.

DiGi has successfully attracted customers with their high speed broadband, but only one thing I dislike the most is it disconnect very often, which I am not able to accept it. If you disconnect 3-5 times a day, I still ok with it. But when you goes very often until want to watch Youtube, it disconnected; want to download movie, it disconnected. It's freaking annoying.

In one day (24 hours period), it can goes disconnected up to 20-30 times a day. Can you imagine that? Since DiGi likes to say, "It's time to change", so I think it's time for me to change to other company as well, even if today up till now, you only disconnected twice.

New and unimproved

The problems keep coming again and again and again. As a customer of "The Widest Coverage" in Malaysia, I got fed up and angry with DiGi Broadband.

Since my phone was damaged, broadband is my last option to go online and to do all my works, especially helping my former school to do with their alumni things on the web. To be precise, I am using my abilities in graphic designing and logo designing to create an alumni weblog for my former school.

I was told to LOOK for other alumni pages in the web in order to make the weblog that I am making to look better and different from other alumni pages.

Even though the broadband did disconnect few nights prior of starting to make the weblog, it weren't as often as these 2 nights (last night's and tonight). Furthermore, the speed of the broadband was not even more than 200kpbs.

What I did was, I had signed in using OCS (Online Customer Services) and the first thing I said was, "I am not pleased with the frequent disconnections of the broadband". After they checked all the things, they said, "there is no problems with our line... peak hour from 6p.m. to 2a.m." [I was thinking in my mind that, "Yeah, right! Every time when I asked about brodband, DiGi surely will have 101 reasons.]

I was also advised, if the disconnections keep going on, I need to wait about 15-20 minutes and restart my whole computer/laptop again. Again, I was thinking, "I need to do designing and I can't afford to take any time breaks for it, yet you asking me to restart the whole computer and laptop?"

Yesterday, I was having a catalog of YES 4G services. The services looks much better than any HSDPA (3G) services in Malaysia. In addition, Pastor said that Telekom Malaysia will introduce fiber optic internet broadband services [most probably, UniFi] next year. Seems like there are options for me to choose a better one.

What goes around, comes around

Let's start with DiGi. Few days ago, I was complaining about the broadband line keep disconnecting. Yesterday, I even put it on Twitter. The best thing was they replied me and giving me tips to improve my broadband from disconnecting by set my broadband network from WCDMA Preferred to WCDMA Only.

Good news was the line did got disconnected (less than 5 times after I'd changed the setting) and I can use my broadband all night long.

Today, the things again disconnected. Until now, it has been the 8th time of the day that the broadband got disconnected. This time, I called up DiGi and talked about my complain. According to one of their operators, I supposed to use WCDMA Only because my place has no 3G line. Later on, she asked me to hold up the phone and checked whether there is any technical difficulties - which there was one near Proton Edar of my place.

After that, I went to check my blog. On the counter of my blog, it appeared a familiar number, the Satanic number of '666' but with a zero behind it. Whether or not Satan was nearby or else, no one knows. I can only ask God to bless the whole house and protect myself from the harm of Satan. Maybe the Satan has his plan to destroy me one more to tempt me to stay away from God.

Worse broadband provider

It's been 3 months since I started to use DiGi Broadband. From the anxiousness to use "so-called" the fastest broadband provider had turned to anger and disappointment - time after time, no matter how good the line is, but still not doing as advertised.

"When it stops, only when you want to" has become a fake tagline to make more business when DiGi Broadband (including DiGi Internet for mobile) gets disconnected no matter in what conditions, time and days.

Why DiGi had disappoint me? Since I started to use DiGi Broadband, it has been disconnected for approximate over 100 times within 3 months of my usage. In one day, DiGi Broadband get disconnected by itself almost 7-10 times. When the broadband get disconnected, it will take a long time to reconnect it back online.

When it keeps occurring, I often calls DiGi to know what problems that they are having that makes the broadband gets disconnected. I even use kind words even though I was not happy with the service provided. To say, we pay money for it but we can get the best service? I've been called up DiGi Customer Service quite a few times and when I asked them, these will be their answers:-

*upgrading your account (when you reached at the middle of the month) to refresh your account's status and outstanding amount.

*broadband was meant for outdoor. To receive better reception - indoor, you need to place your computer or laptop near windows.

In the advertisement also did mention that, the line will stays until when I disconnect it. Now, the line doesn't stays and disconnect on its own. Is this the service you provide to us? DiGi, you can sue me for defamation but what you mention on the advertisement was not same as you provided to us. Even DiGi Internet also sometimes unable to connect into the net, at the same time when DiGi Broadband disconnected on its own. The worse was I can't watch Youtube using mobile anymore; thanks to DiGi Internet sucks, providing worse things to its customers.

One of my former student, also a Christian brother experienced the same thing (his location is in Petaling Jaya) and I quote: "Can I sue Digi for not saying that 'with Digi broadband, I will disconnect only when I want it to?'"

Please do as what you had mentioned in the advertisement, I am kind to let you know and called the customer service nicely. Some people might just fire out all kinds of words and I will not have the patient to see the line get disconnected over and over again. Hope you kindly take down this blog post as a note of reference.

DiGi HSDPA line is slow in Damai Perdana

It's my third day since I got my DiGi Broadband. The first and second day were gorgeous, I like to use DiGi. However, on the third day I think I need to retract back my words.

It has been a month since the DBKL ordered DiGi to remove the base station in Damai Perdana, which caused 3G lines unavailable around Damai Perdana area.

Some more, when Phrase II of Damai Perdana is the most inner part of Damai Area. Receptions began to improved 5 days after the problem occured. I only can called up DiGi Customer Service to ask for the latest information.

Even now, the 3G lines sometimes go up and down when I am in my room. But today's the 3G line signal just disappeared from my phone and same to my DiGi Broadband too. As result, I can surf the net but in lag mood. Same to my phone's internet too. So, I decided to login my Online Customer Service website to ask for information.

I can't even joined the D'Chat. I closed the window and starts to call up DiGi CS. The response given was, "The base station was removed by local council and yet we are waiting for the approval to build a new one."

I wondered, I been a long month until now yet the base station unable to be build somewhere near Damai Perdana. Are the customers going to wait? Sure they will use other broadband or even use TMnet.

By the way, I hope that DiGi can resolve the problem as soon as possible because I like to use DiGi. I've been a loyal DiGi customers for almost 2 and a half years. I still can tell people that I don't like to use any other operators beside DiGi - Always the smarter choice.

Maxis always not the smartest choice

Few days ago, I did ask for my mother some money to let me use the Maxis Hotlink SIM card to go online to update all source of things, including update my blog. At that time, not even my father’s Maxis Hotlink SIM card had enough credit to send it to me. I was thinking to go to cyber café to do all my things at a short period of time. I also abandoned the plan because I was not really having myself to go to cyber café anymore.

Yesterday, my mother had gotten her salary. My mother was generous enough to lend me RM50, so I could reload my Maxis Hotlink SIM credit to subscribe for weekly internet broadband package. I forgotten to bring my wallet along and I only realized it when I reached in front of 7-Eleven. Luckily, I was aware of it before I go inside the 7-Eleven (rather to make a shame of myself for forgotten to bring my wallet).

I went home and took my wallet, again returned to 7-Eleven and bought Hotlink RM30 reload coupon. I reload it instantly and went home quickly. Then, I turned on the laptop hoping to go online. However, the disappointing moments just started.

The landing page of Maxis Broadband showed that all my subscription not available and I went to check more information regarding the subscription. It was written as “INSUFFICIENT CREDIT”. In fast was I reloaded RM30, minus the broadband fee means that I still have around RM4. How come it became insufficient? To answer this question, I called up Maxis Customer Services.

At first, when the CS personnel told me to delete all the cookies and all histories in the browsers, I was happy with the explanation given. Yet, I am still unable to surf the internet. I called up to Maxis CS again. This time, most probably a Chinese woman who answered my call (the one just now was a Malay woman). I was a bit unhappy with the CS personnel because she couldn’t resolve my problem and since my SIM card is inside the broadband, how can I dial *100# to check my status?

I went and test it myself and it has allowed me to surf the net. At that time, I needed to follow my parents to Tesco Ampang for shopping, which I get myself a shampoo (Clear Men 2010 – the one Christiano Ronaldo uses in the commercial, even though I am currently using it and had used it for a long time). I also get myself with a card reader for moving some files from my phone’s memory card into my pen-drives.

The first thing I do after returned home was to check my line again – and the result was I am unable to surf the net again. Again, I called up Maxis CS and the CS personnel were a Malay man. He told me that he will reset the ‘location ID’ within 30 minutes and try again. So, I did exactly what he said and thank God that I can finally can online to update my blog and did something on my Facebook. This was continued on until the line had disconnected by itself. AGAIN, I was unable to surf the net.

I asked my brother to send me some credit but end up a failure. Then, I asked my real brother whether Maxis will not allow me to enjoy my subscription because of my credit or vice-versa? After a few more time, I getting very angry and I gave up to continue trying after more than 10 times attempt – restarts the computer. I smsed my friend and watched some videos before I went ‘knocked-out’.

The next morning, I made another attempt to call Maxis CS and expressed my disappointment. Maxis CS then asked me to try to call to Broadband Department and gave me the department’s phone number (1800-82-2000). Only then, they told me that all prepaid broadband customers are/were having the same problem and the technicians will finish their ‘works’ after 29th June. I was like blurred for a moment because all these while I called the Maxis CS and they never told me anything regarding the network’s problem. If DiGi, when I asked them about any network problems, they will just answer me and quickly refer the problem to the department that involved. DiGi always the smartest choice. Maxis always not the smartest choice.

---
I have been a loyal DiGi user since 2002. Although, I currently have a Maxis SIM card but it was just a back-up plan in case something/sometime needed to use Maxis.

Hotlink what?

This Hotlink SIM card(s) was the previous design by Maxis Telecommunication. Let's guess (since I know what it is) to tell me what is this?

Its a bunch of name cards provided by my boss (using Maxis SIM cards' design). According to my boss, that some Maxis dealer also used this SIM design as name cards.

Well, I already have my name cards (provided by my workplace) and I can save up my this year's budget for name cards, which I had designed without under any organisation (used my blog title as the header - and the header's design resembled celebration design)

Facebook Mobile and Windows Live Mobile: Not friendly at all

The world is in our hands. We might not carry a laptop around but we did carry our mobile phone. With 3G/4G mobile internet, we can surf the net anytime and anywhere. It is just on our hands for real. Many mobile sites also became a massive exposure as they try to make it mobile friendly (the lesser the contents of the web, the easier we can surf into a web). A normal mobile site will be just less than 100kb. Most of it (because of Blackberry, Iphone, HTC and other touch screen phones), mobile web now is 200kb and less. Even my blog now has been reduced (its contents) into less than 200kb/view.

I have been using Facebook and Windows Live (phone application) for a period of time. I admitted that both Facebook and Windows Live has gave a huge advantages to its users. I like to use it too. In February, Facebook had changed their main page codes and mobile site codes. Whenever these changes has applied many users voiced their dissatisfaction. But Facebook keep on changing from time to time, we also don't want to just keep in our place.

However, the changes had made users inconvenient. I do like of changes but you need to review it whether is it able to support certain phones or not? Not all people can afford a touch screen phones. I am still using SE K800. I love to use that phone a lot although I like slide phones. Because of the recent Facebook log updates, my phone sometimes unable to view the mobile site and says, "Contents too large". Need to refresh more than 5 times only can be view. The friend suggestions application also had made me inconvenient too. I was unable to catch up with news feeds of my friends (because I not always on the mobile web as often as last time).

Meanwhile, Windows Live Messenger Mobile Application was by DiGi, although Maxis has its own version of it. Although DiGi's WLM Mobile upgraded once. Maybe either the line (DiGi WAP or DiGi Intenet) still not stable or the program's software not stable. Whenever I login (especially during night time), I often been ejected out from WLM Mobile. Almost everytime. I couldn't chat with anyone in WLM.

Maxis Hotlink

Looks familiar? Yes, because it is Maxis Hotlink logo. No... no... no... Not Hotlink. It's Maxis Hotlink now. Around October last year, Maxis has rebranded Hotlink and making it into Maxis Hotlink. Although the logo don't have much difference from the one before it but if you look at the "i". Well is the Maxis Globe logo. By that globe been put into Maxis Hotlink logo, it is offically a part of Maxis although last time, Hotlink is a part of Maxis but not under the same roof as Maxis Telco.

DiGi Internet Broadband

My uncle said recently that he will subscribe a broadband so I can use temporarily. He asked me to find the best broadband to be use. In many broadband in Malaysia, I like DiGi Broadband the best. I will recommend my uncle to subcribe DiGi Broadband. I am also currently using DiGi 3G Internet. I also had created a DiGi Broadband modem for myself via Microsoft PowerPoint. I was as simple as I thought. Nice or not?
