Maxis always not the smartest choice

Few days ago, I did ask for my mother some money to let me use the Maxis Hotlink SIM card to go online to update all source of things, including update my blog. At that time, not even my father’s Maxis Hotlink SIM card had enough credit to send it to me. I was thinking to go to cyber café to do all my things at a short period of time. I also abandoned the plan because I was not really having myself to go to cyber café anymore.

Yesterday, my mother had gotten her salary. My mother was generous enough to lend me RM50, so I could reload my Maxis Hotlink SIM credit to subscribe for weekly internet broadband package. I forgotten to bring my wallet along and I only realized it when I reached in front of 7-Eleven. Luckily, I was aware of it before I go inside the 7-Eleven (rather to make a shame of myself for forgotten to bring my wallet).

I went home and took my wallet, again returned to 7-Eleven and bought Hotlink RM30 reload coupon. I reload it instantly and went home quickly. Then, I turned on the laptop hoping to go online. However, the disappointing moments just started.

The landing page of Maxis Broadband showed that all my subscription not available and I went to check more information regarding the subscription. It was written as “INSUFFICIENT CREDIT”. In fast was I reloaded RM30, minus the broadband fee means that I still have around RM4. How come it became insufficient? To answer this question, I called up Maxis Customer Services.

At first, when the CS personnel told me to delete all the cookies and all histories in the browsers, I was happy with the explanation given. Yet, I am still unable to surf the internet. I called up to Maxis CS again. This time, most probably a Chinese woman who answered my call (the one just now was a Malay woman). I was a bit unhappy with the CS personnel because she couldn’t resolve my problem and since my SIM card is inside the broadband, how can I dial *100# to check my status?

I went and test it myself and it has allowed me to surf the net. At that time, I needed to follow my parents to Tesco Ampang for shopping, which I get myself a shampoo (Clear Men 2010 – the one Christiano Ronaldo uses in the commercial, even though I am currently using it and had used it for a long time). I also get myself with a card reader for moving some files from my phone’s memory card into my pen-drives.

The first thing I do after returned home was to check my line again – and the result was I am unable to surf the net again. Again, I called up Maxis CS and the CS personnel were a Malay man. He told me that he will reset the ‘location ID’ within 30 minutes and try again. So, I did exactly what he said and thank God that I can finally can online to update my blog and did something on my Facebook. This was continued on until the line had disconnected by itself. AGAIN, I was unable to surf the net.

I asked my brother to send me some credit but end up a failure. Then, I asked my real brother whether Maxis will not allow me to enjoy my subscription because of my credit or vice-versa? After a few more time, I getting very angry and I gave up to continue trying after more than 10 times attempt – restarts the computer. I smsed my friend and watched some videos before I went ‘knocked-out’.

The next morning, I made another attempt to call Maxis CS and expressed my disappointment. Maxis CS then asked me to try to call to Broadband Department and gave me the department’s phone number (1800-82-2000). Only then, they told me that all prepaid broadband customers are/were having the same problem and the technicians will finish their ‘works’ after 29th June. I was like blurred for a moment because all these while I called the Maxis CS and they never told me anything regarding the network’s problem. If DiGi, when I asked them about any network problems, they will just answer me and quickly refer the problem to the department that involved. DiGi always the smartest choice. Maxis always not the smartest choice.

I have been a loyal DiGi user since 2002. Although, I currently have a Maxis SIM card but it was just a back-up plan in case something/sometime needed to use Maxis.
