Hope that returned when we give up
This week’s sharing for GCF (Genesis Christian Fellowship) was all about to be steward of time. At one point, I also mentioned about how many of us spent time within 24 hours with God? Immediately, I regained the hope to continue on my struggle in order for me to be able to make it to church by next week.
On that evening, I was informed that I have been relieved from the duties on Sunday because of the infection of the eye (on Sasha) and [today] Sofie had undergone a spraying surgery. My other male colleague will need to replace his Saturday off day with Sunday. It means that I’m will have my off day on Sunday to allow me to go to church.

Controversy of Valentine's Day
“We regret the comments and opinions expressed by our guest panellist, Siti Nor Bahyah Mahamood during the programme on Feb 15, 2009,” said Media Prima Bhd television networks chief operating officer Ahmad Izham Omar in a press statement.
Siti Nor Bahyah was reported to have said that “immoral activities, discoing, couples meeting in private, were traditions of the Christian community.”
The Christian Federation of Malaysia has stressed that Valentine’s Day was a secular observance which Roman Catholics and Protestants do not commemorate as a religious festival.
“Since the incident, we have been more vigilant and perceptive in monitoring the content of our programmes including Halaqah. We want to ensure that our programmes do not offend or create potentially sensitive content,” Ahmad Izham said.
MCA has urged Media Prima to immediately air a public notification of dissociation from Islamic motivator speaker Siti Nor Bahyah Mahamood's remarks and not to broadcast any programmes with her as a panellist or guest speaker until she apologises to the Christian community.
Comments by motivational speaker Siti Nor Bahyah Mahamood linking Valentine's Day to Christianity and immoral activities by Christians have been criticised by the Council of Churches Malaysia (CCM).
"They have erred in their inference, and therefore has hurt the religious feelings of Christians in the country. Valentine's Day is a secular observance, and it is not celebrated religiously by churches in Malaysia, or, in other parts of the world." said Rev. Dr Herman Shastri, General Secretary of Council of Churches Malaysia (CCM) in a statement.
He also added, "In the spirit of One Malaysia, promoted by the government, we appeal to the good conscience of the authorities to repeal such hurting inferences that Christianity promotes sexual promiscuity because of Valentine's Day observance, often made in the media and in the said Fatwah."
In the mean time, several Islamic organisations had started Anti-Valentine's Day campaign. However, Sisters in Islam (SIS) has hit out at PAS over its controversial plans to 'check' sinful activities and play the moral police on Valentine's Day.
'Moral policing is against Islamic values and fundamental liberties. It violates personal dignity and privacy, which is forbidden in the Quran and Hadith,' an SIS spokesperson said.
Valentine's Day
"Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love." [1 John 4:8]
"We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him." [1 John 4:16]
"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." [John 15:12-13]
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." [Revelation 21:8]

Dikacau syaitan
Blessed be the name of the Lord!

The task
A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light. An angel appeared, showed a large rock in front of his cabin and asked him to push against the rock with all his might.
This the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock.
Nothing happened. And he decided to make it a matter of prayer.
"Lord I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even been able to budge that rock. What is wrong? Why am I failing?"
The angel appeared again :
"My friend, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. And now you come to me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so?"
"Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard."
"Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have."
"You learned the importance of discipline and training," "This you have done. Now it is my turn, my task."
And the angel moved the rock, showing to the man a beautiful path ahead.

Our Daily Bread: June-August Issue
The June - August issue of Our Daily Bread. From left: Enter Into the Youth World, The Final Goal, Contribution Envelope, The Final Goal subscription form and Our Daily Bread.Today, I received 'Our Daily Bread' for June - August issue. When I opened the envelope, there are 2 'The Final Goal' pamphlets. I started to read on it and found out that the story in it was interesting.
They combine some football facts and some Bible facts to create it. It was created in conjunction of 2010 South Africa's World Cup which will start on 11 June to 11 July 2010. As I read on, the pamphlet is just a sample to give to friends. If I need a real one then I need to ask from RBC Ministries Resources. And that whole thing actually is a book which published by Our Daily Bread.
The front cover of 'The Final Goal' which attracted people to see it.
Worried that I might write the wrong thing on the wrong place on the postal order, I need to verify with certain people regarding the postal order's usage. Since I'm a big noob in using 'such modern' application, I need to be very careful with everything I do later on.
Another pamphlet about 'Enter into the Youth Word'
Then the pamphlet on the left is all about a portal for Christian Youth all over the world to show something (either musics, pictures and etc.) that revealed ourselves to the Lord. Actually, it is a cool site and easy to find too.

Community of Praise Church, Malaysia
Community of Praise Kuala Lumpur is the 1st church established by Community of Praise Baptist Church (Singapore). The church was attented by my late cousin previously.Community of Praise Malaysia later began its own journey to expand their ministries in Malaysia, and India too. *Note: Ccmmunity of Praise Malaysia had nothing to do with Community of Praise Singapore.
This is some information from: http://www.copchurch.com/about/our-history/
Our journey started in June 1996 when 4 couples met at the home of the Andersons (Ian and Wendy) to seek what God was saying to them. They met each week, continually seeking God. They eventually asked Pastor Charles Carrol from Community of Praise Baptist Church in Singapore to meet with them. He came together with Matthew Pang and agreed God was doing something in our midst, “that the Spirit was heavy upon him” and that he would seek the CPBC council approval for us to come under their covering.
After much prayer and discussion with Pastor Charles Carrol, Sunday services were started on 17th January, 1997 with 27 people in attendance at the home of the Andersons in Lingkungan U-Thant, Kuala Lumpur.
Subsequently, Ian Anderson and Peter Zimmerman were appointed the Founding Elders of Community of Praise in Malaysia. Thus Community of Praise Kuala Lumpur was “born of the flesh and of the Spirit”.
Pastor Steve of CPBC together with different pastors from CPBC traveled to KL every weekend to preach, teach, consult, train or to just encourage the enthusiastic team of early leaders. Subsequently, COP Kuala Lumpur became strong enough to stand on its own by God’s grace. CPBC’s direct involvement tapered off and finally ceased altogether.
As CoP Kuala Lumpur grew, the congregation’s needs also grew. It needed bigger premises, a full time pastor, more staff, etc. It was at this juncture, in 2000, that the church began to worship at the Methodist Centre for Women and Children in Ulu Klang. Rev Todd Nelson from Texas was recruited to lead the church as its Senior Pastor. He was ably assisted by Rev Rudy Liu and Pastor Edward Nathaniel. These three and their spouses (Jeni Nelson, Pastor Ruby Liu and Elsie Nathaniel) together with Ian and Wendy Anderson were appointed as Elders of CoP Kuala Lumpur.
In January 2002 CoP Kuala Lumpur welcomed Pastor Joel Kumar and his wife Angeline Kumar to head the Tamil Work in the Ampang area. In February 2002, Brother Paul Packianathan and his wife Sister Victoria Packianathan also joined us to assist in the Tamil Work. Pastor Joel & his family left CoP in December 2002 to look for greener pastures.
After his ordination, Rev Paul Packianathan took charge of our Tamil Work on 01.01.2003 when it became a local church named CoP Taman Wahyu.
On 01.05.2007, CoP Petaling Jaya was added to our fold.
Subsequently, in Tamil Nadu, India, two more churches were instituted – CoP Perungudi and CoP Saidapet.
Currently CoP is a church that is run solely by Malaysians and is purely supported by its members.
This is a very brief account of our origin and growth. Details will be added as they are compiled as much of the info was lost in the challenging period in December 2002.
