Nippon Problème

Today was the first day of my returning to work after a week of holidays. Going to back to work is a fun thing to me because there will be my students to entertain me with their funny and silly things. For this time, I keep myself positive to work without my students of 2 weeks. However, I started to get bored when I walked alone from Cempaka LRT station to my workplace.

Josephine arrived earlier than me, but the admin block was not open yet. Only when Yicol came without Henry, I know that my employer went to have breakfast. When they finally came, we quickly settled down and started my 1st job – to take the cat out for a walk with Yicol at the park.

About 45 minutes later, we went back to the admin block and were asked to have our breakfast. After that, we started to do our jobs as been assigned. Yicol and I also were asked to survey both Block B and C to “calculate” what amount of paint that we need to use for patching up the dirty wall and grill. We had done it and went back to Block A.

The instructions given by my lady employer were:
*get a tin of green paint which is not to light or dark: around green apple colour but slightly lighter.
*get a can of white Nippon Odourless Air Care for Block A.
*get another tin of white paint (cheap type) for other blocks.
*get brushes.
#uses our discretions if few small cans of paint which nearly equals to a big tin 5kg of paint.

Both Yicol and I were given RM500. We walked around but we didn’t go far. We walked 2 streets (the street until Fat Lady Chicken Rice Shop) and we go towards another one more street. We found a spray paint shop and asked for normal house paint shop. The guy in the spray paint shop told us that another street from here, there is a paint shop.

At first, both of us argued with the green colour that one of my employers wants. Since the sky getting darker, we rushed things up and even started to rain. After we had confirmed the colour, we got a phone called from our male employer to return immediately.

When we reached there, we showed our lady employer the colour that she wants and the total price of it also were around few cans of paint. However, we were given permission to get the paints and returned to the paint shop once again with confirmation.

While all things were done, my male employer called me again. I did my explanations but he wanted to talk to the lady who served us. Even the lady also convinced him with things I had told my lady employer. After the phone session, the lady who served us also shake her head (indicated that even herself also cannot resist it).

The rain was heavier but we were without umbrella. We walked slowly since I was carrying both heavier tins of paint. When we reached back, we were questioned by our male employer while the female employer defended us for it, due to we were following order. Again, we were asked to send back the brushes and the white paint, which we did and apologised to the lady that served us.

By the time we done it, it’s already 4 p.m.

[1] the paint shop is Nippon Paint Specialist Shop.
[2] we didn't go beyond Fat Lady Chicken Rice Shop because of long distance and bad weather.
[3] most of the hardware shops nearby didn't look like hardware shop
      - one of them repairing motors for items such as big steel fan.
[4] the tauke niang was kind enough to refund our money.
