Terengganu State Government recently decided to make Redang Island, a 5-star rated island with 5-star hotels and resorts. What the state government trying to do? To erase that island from our local tourism map?
Well, then local tourists especially those with lower income may not able to go to that island anymore. But I do think that the state government needs to know that it is Malaysia's treasure, not the international's.
The Menteri Besar maybe thinks that he is the cleverest among Terengganu people by making that island for the those higher income and/or simply, for the rich people.
By that, he may think that the state will recieve more money from the island. Excuse me! There are many ways to make money. There is no need to sacrifice our tourism map.
Furthermore, while we are encouraged by the Federal Government and promotes Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia, the state government then wants citizens to go where to relax their mind then?
This decision might affect the next General Election for Barisan Nasional. If the state government wants to continue with that plan, they will lose their seats soon.
